Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic believes team-mate Peter Crouch should be included in England s FIFA World Cup squad.
Crouch has scored seven goals in 29 Premier League appearances for Mark Hughes men this term, a contribution that has helped Stoke to 10th in the table.
The 33-year-old has an impressive record of 22 goals in 42 appearances for England, but his last cap came in a friendly encounter against France in November 2010.
With Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge almost certain to be in Roy Hodgson s 23-man squad for Brazil 2014, and the likes of Danny Welbeck, Jermain Defoe, Andy Carroll and Rickie Lambert also vying for a spot, Crouch is seemingly well down the pecking order.
However, Begovic, who is set to be Bosnia-Herzegovina s first-choice keeper i…

The 36-year-old s current deal with Galatasaray is due to expire, but the Turkish giants have the option to extend it for another year.

The former Chelsea star is expected to represent Ivory Coast at the 2014 World Cu…
The Halo TV series, which just premiered on March 24, is doing big numbers for Paramount+. It launched on March 24 and set a new record for the most-watched series premiere worldwide in its first 24 hours on Paramount+. The previous record-holder was the Yellowstone prequel 1883.
Paramount+ did not share any specific numbers, but Deadline–which was first to report the news–said we should learn more when Nielsen releases its new streaming numbers.
“Bringing Halo to life as a streaming series has been one of the most rewarding efforts for Paramount+ to date and we could not be more thrilled at the massive fan response to the series’ debut,” Paramount boss Tanya Giles said. “Along with our phenomenal partners at Showtime, 343 Industries, and Amblin Tele…
Pape Souare faces another spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a dislocated shoulder, Crystal Palace have confirmed.
Souare has struggled to get into Palace s first team after recovering from injuries sustained in a car crash in 2016.
The defender had to be cut free from his Mercedes 4 4, suffering injuries to his thigh and jaw in the accident.
And Palace announced on Thursday that Souare will be out for around two months after surgery on his shoulder.
Souare, who has made one brief substitute appearance in the Premier League this season, suffered the injury in an FA Cup win over Grimsby Town.
The 28-year-old, left out of Senegal s World Cup squad, should be available for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to begin contract talks with defender Toby Alderweireld, according to the Mirror.
The Belgium international is wanted by Serie A side Inter Milan though Spurs are not interested in selling, and are keen to secure the former Ajax man’s services long term.
His current deal still has two years remaining on it and is worth around £50,000-per-week though the centre-back wants parity with the clubs top earners Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris, who both earn roughly double that figure.
Alderweireld followed manager Mauricio Pochettino to the North London club in the summer of 2015 with the pair having worked together the season before at Southampton.
Since then, he has made eighty-eight appearances in all competitions scoring six go…
Republic of Ireland boss Stephen Kenny has insisted “nothing is impossible” as he plots Euro 2024 qualifying victories over European superpowers France and the Netherlands in September.
Kenny’s men belatedly opened their Group B account with a 3-0 victory over Gibraltar at the Aviva Stadium on Monday evening to ease at least a little of the disappointment of Friday night’s 2-1 defeat in Greece.
Ireland’s hopes of securing one of the top two spots look forlorn unless they can pull off a series of shock results, but that is exactly what Kenny intends to do.

Laying down what was another stunning marker on Sunday night, Napoli picked up an impressive 1-0 victory away at Jose Mourinho s Roma.
Only continuing on what has been a remarkable start to the 2022/23 campaign, the Azzurri also once again widened their buffer at the top of the Serie A table to three points.
In the midst of what has been a record-breaking purple patch, Sunday s guests made it 11 victories on the bounce as attacking talisman Victor Osimhen struck a late winner at Stadio Olimpico.
Gaining a string of plaudits and also enjoying a rampant run of form while on Champions League duties, Napoli also exposed Roma s extended attacking inconstancies.
In a showdown between two Italian giants, we have taken a look at the main talking points.

Swansea manager Brendan Rogers said his side got its just reward after clinching promotion to the English Premier League on Monday.
The Welsh club looked in control at half-time of the Championship playoff against Reading at Wembley after jumping out to a 3-0 lead inside 40 minutes.
But Reading scored twice in the first 12 minutes of the second half to give hope to their band of supporters, only for Scott Sinclair s penalty his third goal of the game to ice the result for Swansea on 80 minutes.
It was a fantastic game, said Rodgers, who was sacked as Reading coach in December 2009 and joined Swansea in July 2010.
I don t think we played as well as we did for most of the season.
But on the moments when we did show our quality we were very, ve…
